Our client, a leading global media organisation, is seeking a capable and motivated lawyer to join their commercial legal team on a 12-month FTC. This is a broad, generalist commercial role supporting the business across a wide range of legal matters. You will work closely with stakeholders across the group, advising on commercial contracts, data protection, and day-to-day legal queries, alongside supporting key strategic projects, including the continued growth of their technology brand and influencer marketing offering.
This opportunity would suit a 4+ PQE lawyer looking to step into a varied in-house role, take ownership of matters, and gain exposure across multiple areas of a dynamic, fast-paced business. There is also scope to take on increased responsibility and act as a key point of contact for certain business areas.
Key responsibilities:- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (including supplier, customer, and partnership contracts)
- Advising the business on data protection and privacy matters, including compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies
- Acting as a trusted legal advisor to key stakeholders, providing clear, commercially focused guidance
- Developing and maintaining contract templates and playbooks for use across the group
- Supporting on legal aspects of new products, initiatives, and strategic projects
- Assisting the Senior Legal Counsel with internal investigations, identifying trends, risks, and appropriate mitigations
- Liaising with and managing external counsel where required
- Supporting on broader legal, compliance, and risk management matters
- Supervising and mentoring junior members of the legal team (trainees and paralegals)
- 4+ years’ PQE with strong commercial contracts experience (in-house or private practice)
- Experience advising on data protection and privacy matters (e.g. GDPR)
- Comfortable operating as a generalist and taking ownership of matters end-to-end
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior business stakeholders
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to operate with a degree of autonomy
