We are currently working with a leading global organisation within the payments and financial technology sector that is looking to appoint an
Interim Legal Counsel to support its legal team on a range of innovative digital assets, cryptocurrency, stablecoin and emerging payments initiatives.
This opportunity sits within a specialist legal function supporting the development and commercialisation of next-generation digital payment products and services.
Working alongside experienced legal and business stakeholders, you'll advise on complex regulatory and commercial issues in a fast-moving, international environment.

The Role
You will provide commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of technology, regulatory and commercial matters, supporting the development and launch of innovative products and services across the digital assets ecosystem.
Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you'll advise throughout the product lifecycle, help manage legal and regulatory risk, support governance initiatives and contribute to strategic projects involving blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, stablecoins and other digital payment solutions.
The role will also involve reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, monitoring regulatory developments and coordinating with specialist legal teams where required.
This position offers exposure to cutting-edge legal issues within an evolving global regulatory landscape and the opportunity to work on business-critical projects with international reach.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day legal support on technology, commercial and regulatory matters.
- Advising on legal issues arising throughout the product development lifecycle for digital assets and emerging payments products.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of commercial, technology and customer agreements.
- Supporting governance and regulatory initiatives across blockchain, cryptocurrency and stablecoin products.
- Monitoring global legal and regulatory developments and advising on business impact.
- Working closely with legal, compliance, privacy, intellectual property and commercial stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
- Managing relationships with external legal advisers where appropriate.
- Supporting legal training, knowledge sharing and continuous process improvement.
About You
We're keen to speak with lawyers who have
- Experience advising on technology, financial services, payments or fintech matters.
- Strong exposure to digital assets, cryptocurrency, stablecoins, blockchain technology or distributed ledger technology (DLT) .
- A solid understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape affecting digital assets and payment technologies.
- Strong commercial contracting and stakeholder management experience.
- Experience gained in private practice and/or an in-house legal team.
- A pragmatic, commercially focused approach to legal advice.
- The ability to manage competing priorities within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Initial 3β6 month interim contract , with potential for longer-term opportunities.
- Hybrid working (approximately three days per week in the office).
