The Steamship Authority is currently accepting applications to fill a Welder position. Applicants must be proficient in the following: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, Pipe Fitting, Plasma Cutting, Oxygen and Acetylene Burning and all aspects of Structural Fabrication, as well as aluminum fitting and welding. Individuals must also satisfy ASME Code and 46 CFR Parts 56 & 57.
Applicants may be required to demonstrate metal fabrication skills as part of the interview process. Applicant must have a valid Massachusetts Driver's license. Newly hired welders must be able to pass a welding qualification/certification as required by the Steamship Authority, for both steel and aluminum, within 100 days of employment. Position pay starts at $38.31 per hour.
