The Steamship Authority is currently accepting applications to fill the union position of Machinist/Diesel Marine Mechanic, primarily working out of the Hyannis Maintenance Facility.

The responsibilities of this position include operation of machine shop equipment, overhaul and repair of pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, engine controls and diesel engines. EMD, MTU, Detroit, John Deere and Caterpillar diesel engine experience is desired. Applicant must have 1 to 3 years of experience or equivalent in the repair, (cooperative education will be accepted) troubleshooting and maintenance of diesel engines and mechanical systems. Marine or shipyard experience is preferred. Applicant must be fully skilled and able to work from sketches, manuals and blueprints.

The hourly rate for this position is $35.64.
