The States of Guernsey is looking to recruit a Senior Neonatal Staff Nurse on an 8 month fixed term contract to join the Midwifery, Paediatrics and Neonatal team as part of the Acute Service. The role of the Senior Neonatal Staff Nurse is to attend deliveries, initiate resuscitation, and assist the medical team. The nurse will have the expertise to care for every level of the sick neonate, at times with minimal support.
JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will have the experience and confidence to work without supervision in the Neonatal Unit. They will be able to attend deliveries, initiate resuscitation, and assist the medical team. RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Paediatrics And Neonatal Clinical Lead
- Responsible to: Associate Director
- Accountable to: Director of Acute Care
KEY CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL
- Registered Children’s Nurse or RN Child/RGN Diploma/Degree in related field
- EMB 405 or equivalent NLS provider
- A minimum of 2 years neonatal nursing experience
DESIRABLE
- Leadership and/or management training.
- Assessing and mentoring qualification
- Evidence of child protection training
