We are now looking for a Waiter/Waitress who will embody our ‘Anything but Standard’ ethos across three key venues.
Isla restaurant and terrace is an indoor-outdoor garden oasis with a seasonal menu, carefully curated wine list, and inventive cocktails. This Spring, we have a guest chef pop-up with Jordon Ezra King. The Italian-ish menu draws inspiration from his Roman heritage and experience in some of the world’s finest kitchens, including Rubedo, Marksman, Brawn, Le Saint Europ , Burro e Salvia and Yard.
Double Standard restaurant and bar has become best known for its famous burgers, DJs, boozy brunches, guest chefs and BBQ’s, all enjoyed in the 70s-inspired bar space or in the sun-soaked terraces.
The Library Lounge is our cosiest corner, and a hub for our music and cultural programming.
Your role
As Waiter at The Standard, London, you will become part of an exceptional restaurants team. You will be passionate about service, very well organised with an exceptional working knowledge of restaurant and bar operations, and the order of service.
You will have a deep appreciation and knowledge of our menu and bar offering to confidently host our guests and enhance their experience, so you need to be highly social, upbeat, and friendly; confident and able to handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high-volume, high-energy environment and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.

‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; dynamic, vivid, and engaging. Whilst prior experience as a Waiter is essential for this role, you will also have an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests. You will need
- Prior experience as a Waiter/Waitress with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel, or destination or high-quality restaurant or cocktail bar
- Confidence in restaurant operations and the order of service, with a passion for food and drinks
- Good level of drinks knowledge from cocktails to beers and wines to confidently make recommendations to guests
- Highly social, motivated, and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
- Available full-time with full flexibility to work Monday-Sunday as an Evening Waiter (Thurs-Sat we operate a late-night licence till 1.30/2am)
- In addition to those with experience we are actively seeking candidates with a diverse range of lifestyle skills and welcome applications from those in the arts, music and entertainment industries.
- Prior experience using squirrel epos is advantageous however full training will be given
