Waiter [Decimo]

As seen on BBC1 Master Chef and voted as one of London's Top 100 Restaurants; acclaimed chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias merges the Spanish cuisine of his family with his love of Mexico for his debut London restaurant, Decimo. Expect lots of flavour – open fire cooking, mezcal cocktails, and a dramatically different tortilla – exceptional design, floor-to-ceiling windows and dramatic views across the London skyline.

We are now looking to grow our team and are seeking a dynamic individual who will capture the energy of this restaurant destination, and join our team as a Decimo Waiter/Waitress.

Role summary

At The Standard, London, you will become part of an exceptional team with an exciting future. You will be passionate about service, with a strong working knowledge of restaurant operations and order of service, and a deep appreciation for quality food, wines and cocktails – enabling you to confidently match and suggest combinations that will complement guest choices and enhance their overall dining experience. You will be a host to our guests, adding personality and theatre to their experience, making them feel welcome while visiting The Standard and our vibrant city. You will be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and able to handle pressure; thrive in a busy high-volume environment and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong experience as a Waiter/Waitress, ideally in a similar high-end restaurant, lifestyle boutique hotel, or destination venue.
• Provide excellent guest experience, knowledge of restaurant operations and the order of service.
• Suggest and pair food and drinks to enhance guests’ dining experiences.
• Maintain a professional, positive attitude and build genuine relationships with guests.
• Work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment; manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.
• Be available for full-time hours with flexibility Tuesday–Saturday and late-night shifts on Thursday–Saturday.
• Knowledge of Spanish/Mexican cuisine, open-fire cooking, wine, mezcal and tequila is a plus.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., WSET) are a plus.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Waiter/Waitress in similar hospitality settings.
• Excellent guest service skills and a proactive, professional approach.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a high-volume environment.
• Fully flexible availability, particularly Tuesday–Saturday, with late-night availability (Thu–Sat).
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK (documented evidence required).

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting rate of £15.59 per hour (incl. Tronc), increasing to £16.59 per hour after probation. Includes Tips/Benefits.
• Full-time role, 40 hours per week, with set days off (Sun/Mon when the restaurant is closed).
