Head Bartender

As seen on Master Chef and voted one of London's Top 100 Restaurants, Decimo is one of the most stylish Mexican restaurants in London. Focused on flavour through traditional techniques with contemporary twists – showcasing open fire cooking and using only the highest quality ingredients – Decimo has two bar areas with exceptional cocktails, wines, tequila and mezcal, two semi-private dining spaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows providing dramatic views across the London skyline.

We are now seeking a dynamic and experienced individual who will capture the very essence of this culinary destination and join our team as Head Bartender.

Your role as Decimo Head Bartender includes:

• Passion for service with an exceptional working knowledge of bar operations and order of service.
• Deep understanding of cocktails, spirits, champagne, and quality wines to lead and train the bar team.
• Assisting with cocktail prep, bar set up, and creating and mixing a range of signature cocktails in addition to the classics.
• Requisition, stock control, learning and development for the bar team, and implementing Health & Safety policies and compliance practices.
• Being a host, making guests feel welcome while visiting The Standard.

You will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and able to handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high volume, high energy environment and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.

Do you have what it takes to be Decimo Head Bartender at The Standard? ‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic and engaging. Prior experience as a Head Bartender or Bar Supervisor is essential for this role, so you will have strong cocktail knowledge, and an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with the team and guests.

In addition to this you will also need:

• Prior experience as a Head Bartender ideally gained in a similar busy bar, ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel or destination cocktail bar.
• Talent at delivering exceptional guest experience.
• Professional, positive, and polite in all interactions.
• Highly social, motivated and pro-active; excellent with guests and building relationships across teams and departments.
• Organised and detail orientated, with a strong knowledge of bar operations and steps of service.
• Confident knowledge in classic and contemporary cocktails with a good understanding of the London bar scene, and a talent to translate this knowledge to the team.
• Availability (Tues-Sat) and late night (Thurs-Sat).
