Isla restaurant and terrace is an indoor-outdoor garden oasis with a Modern British & European menu of seasonal small plates, minimal-intervention wines, and inventive cocktails. The Library Lounge is our cosiest corner, and a hub for our music and cultural programming.
We are now looking for a dynamic individual to join our Isla restaurant as a Waiter/Waitress.
Your role:
- You will need to be knowledgeable about and interested in great wines and food to confidently guide our guests and enhance their experience.
- You will need to be enthusiastic about learning (with new wines and seasonal dishes), highly social, upbeat, and friendly; confident and able to handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high-volume, high-energy environment and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.
Do you have what it takes to be our Isla Waiter/Waitress at The Standard?
‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; dynamic, vivid, and engaging. Whilst prior experience as a Waiter/Waitress is essential for this role, you will also need:
- Prior experience as a Waiter/Waitress with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel or high-quality restaurant.
- Confidence in guest experience, restaurant operations, and the order of service.
- Knowledgeable and interested in wine (relevant qualifications such as WSET are a plus), as well as great food.
- Highly social, motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions.
- Flair for service and the ability to build genuine relationships with guests.
- Available full-time and fully flexible Monday – Sunday, as well as able to work late-night (Thurs-Sat, 2am).
