Work with unparalleled views on our 11th floor rooftop bar in central London. Seasonal work – April to October – with opportunities to start earlier and transfer within the hotel's restaurants and bars after the season.

We are defined by our richness of personality, diversity of background and lifestyle. At the cultural heartbeat of The Standard are our team who bring to life our spaces, engage with our guests and vibrate social energy, day and night across our bars, restaurants, event and guest spaces.

The Rooftop is an open-air bar and terrace that turns the London skyline into the perfect backdrop for great drinks, food and music. Open to guests and visitors throughout the summer and hired out for private and music events, The Rooftop is the summer stage for striking parties and performances at The Standard.

We are now looking for a dynamic and experienced individual who will capture the energy of this unique venue and join us as a Rooftop Host.

Your role:

  • As a Rooftop Host, you will become part of an exceptional team that will launch this exciting venue onto the London scene.
  • You will be passionate about service, very well organised with an exceptional working knowledge of restaurant and bar operations, and the order of service.
  • We expect very busy days, so prior experience working in a high-volume venue is important – as is a love of the outdoors.
  • You will be a host to our guests, adding a touch of personality and theatre to their experience, and making our guests feel welcome whilst they visit The Standard.
  • You will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a busy, high energy environment and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.

Do you have what it takes to be a Host for The Rooftop? 'Standard People' are at the heart of our brand; dynamic, vivid, and engaging. Whilst prior experience as a Host is essential for this role, you will also have an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests.

You will need:

  • Prior experience as a Host or Receptionist, ideally gained in a similar busy bar, 'Lifestyle' boutique hotel or restaurant & bar pop-up.
  • Confident managing reservations and guest experience, with a natural flair for service, and the ability to build genuine relationships with guests.
  • Highly social, motivated, and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions.
  • Prior experience using SevenRooms and POS is a plus.
  • Available full-time with full flexibility to work Monday–Sunday (in inclement weather The Rooftop closes and shifts are reallocated within the hotel's restaurants and bars).
  • Available for the entire Rooftop season (initial contracts are fixed-term April – October, with the opportunity to transfer within the hotel's restaurants and bars thereafter).

In addition to those with experience we are actively seeking candidates with a diverse range of lifestyle skills and welcome applications from those in the arts, music and entertainment industries.

If you think you have what it takes to be a Rooftop Host at The Standard, we'd love to hear from you. All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates prior to commencing employment.
