Defined by our richness of personality, diversity of background and lifestyle, we are now looking for a dynamic individual to join our Isla restaurant team as a Breakfast Commis Waiter.
Your role as a Breakfast Commis Waiter will involve becoming part of an exceptional restaurant team for breakfast and lunch, largely responsible for running the pass and the mise-en-place to ensure the restaurant has sufficient quantities of cutlery and crockery for service. During service, you will assist the restaurant team in delivering food to the appropriate section for service and clearing and resetting tables. Importantly, you will be part of a team that adds a touch of personality and theatre to our guest experience, making our guests feel welcome whilst they visit The Standard and our energetic and vibrant city. You will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and able to handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high volume, high energy environment, and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.
Do you have what it takes to be a Breakfast Commis Waiter at The Standard? While we take every detail of design and guest experience seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously. ‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; dynamic, vivid, and engaging. Prior experience as a Commis Waiter is essential for this role. You will also have an uncompromised and natural flair for service, strong communication skills, and be able to build genuine relationships in the team and kitchen.
You will also need:
- Prior experience as a Commis Waiter or Runner, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel, destination fine dining, or high-quality restaurant.
- Confidence in restaurant operations and the order of service, with a passion for food and drinks.
- To be highly social, motivated, and pro‑active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions.
- Full-time availability with full flexibility to work Monday–Sunday.
