The Standard sets the bar high again this Spring / Summer with the relaunch of The Rooftop, an open-air bar and terrace that turns the London skyline into the perfect backdrop for cocktails, beers, pizza, and great music. Work with unparalleled views from our 11th floor rooftop bar in central London, with opportunities to transfer within the hotel’s restaurants and bars thereafter.
Back by popular demand, we are again celebrating our legendary rooftop bars and clubs in New York; open to guests and visitors throughout the summer, and hired out for private and music events, The Rooftop is our summer stage for striking parties and performances. Joyful, playful, and picturesque, The Rooftop is a hidden gem set high above the beaten path.
We are now looking for experienced Bartender to join The Rooftop team.
Your role
Do you have what it takes to be a Bartender for The Rooftop
- Prior experience as a Bartender with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel, destination restaurant and bar, high-quality pop-up, or cocktail bar
- Confidence in restaurant operations and the order of service, with a passion for food and drinks
- Confidence in mixology, with a proven knowledge of spirits, well versed in both classic and contemporary cocktails with a good understanding of the latest trends in the London bar scene
- Good level of drinks knowledge from cocktails to beers and wines to confidently make recommendations to guests
- Highly social, motivated, and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
- Hands on approach to service and happy to work outside for your entire shift
- Available full-time with full flexibility to work Monday–Sunday (in inclement weather The Rooftop closes, and shifts can be reallocated within the hotel’s restaurants and bars)
- Available for the entire Rooftop season (initial contracts are fixed-term April – October, with the opportunity to transfer within the hotel’s restaurants and bars thereafter)
- In addition to those with experience we are actively seeking candidates with a diverse range of lifestyle skills and welcome applications from those in the arts, music and entertainment industries
- Prior experience using squirrel epos is advantageous however full training will be given
