Through authoritative journalism, industry-leading events and meaningful connections, we empower our communities to grow, connect and thrive.
We are looking for a Marketing Assistant to play a key role in delivering campaigns that connect communities, elevate our brands, and drive sustainable growth. You will support campaign coordination and delivery, focusing on events and brand marketing. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their marketing career to gain hands-on experience across flagship publishing and theatre events, brand marketing and audience outreach.
Why this role is important: Reporting to the Brand Marketing Manager, you’ll be joining a dynamic and ambitious team, where your ideas and contributions will help to build our audiences, outreach and events. You will be working across events campaigns for The Stage Debut Awards, The Bookseller Children’s Conference and Marketing & Publicity Conference, The Stage Awards, The British Audio Awards and The British Book Awards.
What you will do:
- Work alongside the Brand Marketing Manager to deliver creative, innovative marketing campaigns to support our events.
- Create and optimise marketing copy across digital and physical touchpoints, combining creative thinking with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Deliver targeted email marketing across a range of high-profile events, including lead-up activity and post-event content.
- Enhance our brand presence at industry events, such as London Book Fair, Bologna Book Fair, ABTT Conference and Actors Pro Expo.
- Work with in-house and external designers to create impactful, cohesive visual campaign assets.
- Manage digital assets across all touchpoints, including web, email and social media, ensuring they are achieving maximum reach.
- Compile regular reports on campaign activity, including post-event analysis, and contribute ideas as needed to optimise campaigns.
- Provide administrative and campaign support to the Brand Marketing Manager as required, including but not limited to keeping CRMs, databases and assets up to date; creating and maintaining central documents and instructions; fulfilment and mailout of customer-facing materials.
- Support time-sensitive or event-related activity outside of standard working hours as needed.
What we are looking for:
- A highly organised, self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- An ideas person – someone always looking for new, innovative ways to enhance or optimise campaigns.
- Excellent communication and copywriting skills.
- Proven ability to manage marketing tasks across multiple events and campaigns simultaneously.
- A strong eye for visual design and ability to brief and create on-brand marketing assets.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to form strong working relationships inside and outside the immediate team.
Other information: Normal working hours are 9am - 5pm, with occasional evening or weekend work to cover events. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring at least three days a week at The Stage’s office on Bermondsey Street, SE1, with opportunities for remote work on the other two days.
Please note we start screening CVs and interviewing candidates from the start of a campaign. A successful candidate could progress to offer before the advertised closing date. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible if you are interested. Closing date - 21st May 2026.
