We are a non audition choir start-up singing music from the musicals and film- we provide a holistic, safe approach for our members where they can flourish as individuals within a friendly community. Our mission is to inspire and challenge our members with thoughtful, meaningful music and workshops that leave a lasting impact. With a team of skilled Musical Directors, Professional Performers and our passionate team, we aim to create an atmosphere that is welcoming and inclusive for all. We believe that music and singing has the potential to change lives, and we are committed to highlighting that potential in every rehearsal and workshop we put on.

Our scores are arranged for SATB voice types.

Role Description

This is a freelance on-site role for a Musical Director at The Stage Door Choir located in the London Area, United Kingdom. This is a paid role. The Musical Director will be responsible for leading rehearsals, conducting occasional performances, and overseeing the artistic direction of the choir. They will collaborate with the Choir Leader, team and choir members to create engaging and high-quality musical performances. The Musical Director will also provide guidance and support and ensure the overall musical excellence of the choir. We are launching our first venue next month with rehearsals taking place once a week for ten weeks (including one half term week)

Qualifications

Extensive experience as a choral conductor or Musical Director

Strong leadership and communication skills

Expertise in vocal techniques and choral music repertoire

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of singers

Knowledge of music theory and sight-reading

Prior experience in organizing and conducting rehearsals and performances

Passion for music and dedication to artistic excellence

Ability to inspire and motivate choir members

Flexibility and adaptability in working with different musical styles and genres

Strong organizational and time management skills

Experience in conducting vocal ensembles and working with amateur singers is desirable but not required. Musical experience at a West End standard is desirable.
