We are currently seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join our growing team in the Walsall area. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating a variety of metal components to high-quality standards, working from technical drawings and production specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG and/or TIG welding of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication plans
- Fabricating metal structures and assemblies to specification
- Operating workshop machinery and hand tools safely
- Carrying out quality inspections on completed work
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Working independently and as part of a production team
- Meeting production deadlines and quality targets
Requirements
- Previous experience in welding and fabrication
- Ability to read technical and engineering drawings
- Experience with MIG welding essential (TIG experience advantageous)
- Good attention to detail and workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious
- Relevant welding qualifications preferred but not essential
Desirable Skills
- Experience in structural steel or sheet metal fabrication
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- Previous manufacturing or engineering workshop experience
