Plater/Fabricator required to work from Staveley, Chesterfield S43
Type of Work:
We are working with a well-established fabrication company specialising in medium to heavy steel fabrications for road and rail infrastructure. With over 45 years of industry experience and accreditations including ISO9001, BS EN 1090-2 Exc 3, and BS EN3834-2, they are now expanding their team due to continued growth and a strong order book.
This is a full-time, permanent role for experienced platers/fabricators working on bespoke steel structures such as bridges, staircases, and gantries.
Shift Patterns:
Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 4:30pm (4-day working week)
Overtime available
Pay Rates
£16.00 £17.00 per hour PAYE (depending on experience)
£17.92 £19.07 inc Holiday Pay
Overtime paid at time and a half
Requirements
All applicants must have 5 years experience in plating/fabrication, be confident MIG welders, and able to work from engineering drawings.
Example: All applicants must have experience in heavy steel fabrication, own tools and PPE, and ideally be apprentice trained or hold relevant qualifications.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Fabrication and development of bespoke steel structures
MIG welding to a high standard
Measuring, marking, cutting, shaping, and drilling steel sections
Operating fabrication machinery and workshop tools
Working from detailed engineering drawings
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
Adhering to health & safety policies and procedures
Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years experience in plating/fabrication
MIG welding experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience in heavy steel industry
Apprentice trained or relevant qualifications preferred
Strong attention to detail and safety
