We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy engineering and manufacturing team in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and potentially programming CNC machines to produce high-quality precision components.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Loading programs and making adjustments where required
- Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections
- Ensuring components are produced to tight tolerances
- Maintaining machines and reporting any faults or issues
- Working to production schedules and deadlines
- Following all health & safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist (Setter/Operator)
- Ability to read technical drawings confidently
- Understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards
- Experience with Fanuc / Siemens / Mazatrol controls (preferred)
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Desirable Skills
- CNC programming experience
- Multi-axis machining experience
- Background in aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering
- Experience working with metals such as steel, aluminium, or stainless steel
