Your role

From the outset, you will be involved working on projects within the TSC’s consulting services portfolio, with a specialisation within the Strategy & Growth team. This team leads TSC’s work in strategy and business planning, investor advisory, IP development, operating model commercial optimisation and host advisory. This includes working directly with clients within small, highly strategic, project teams. It will include research, production of written deliverables, presentations and considerable day-to-day client interaction. You will also be leading and managing business development activities, scoping work, designing methodologies and completing client proposals.

Your roles & responsibilities

  • Working with the team to design and produce high quality deliverables to reflect and exceed client needs, including internal and public-facing reports, business cases, commercial models and other deliverables to meet client needs.
  • Providing strategic and commercial advice to our rights holder, event and government clients to help them optimise commercial returns, set strategic direction and solve their most challenging problems.
  • Supporting Senior Consultants to design and produce high quality deliverables to reflect and exceed client needs.
  • Taking direct day-to-day responsibility for project managing engagements and managing peer level client relationships, working with senior colleagues to ensure projects are delivered on time and in scope.
  • Designing and creating individual deliverable content to a high standard with minimal support, ensuring all deliverables are visually appealing and professionally executed.
  • Using numeric analytical skills to process large volumes of data and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Thinking creatively and innovatively to present information to clients in an accessible manner.
  • Engaging directly with clients in meetings, presenting project information and facilitating client discussion.
  • Managing junior team members (interns) and providing clear feedback to improve and enhance their work, including proactive coaching and mentoring.
  • Contributing to the wider business and practice development objectives of the Firm.

Your skills and experience

  • Educated to degree level at 2:1 or above.
  • Experience working in a programme or project management structure, taking ownership for the timely delivery of quality deliverables.
  • Experience of project managing own and others’ work packages to contribute to an integrated project or programme.
  • Appreciation / understanding of the sports industry, trends and opportunities.
  • Experience working in a commercial, financial or strategic environment, ideally in sport or a similar industry.
  • Ideally, ability to build a financial model in excel with an understanding of key revenue drivers in sport.
  • Ability to deliver an argument in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Produces high quality deliverables that are well structured, insight-led, robust and accurate.
  • Ability to think creatively about client problems.
  • Demonstrable client-facing experience and ability to develop strong relationships with (internal or external) clients.
  • Excellent working knowledge of tools required including PowerPoint and Excel and appropriate AI programmes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report-writing, presentations and workshop facilitation.
  • Strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to communicate to people at all levels, across different mediums.
  • Keen to challenge yourself and used to working in a highly supportive team-based environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, but also ask for help when needed.
