Company Description

The Sporting Joint is a multidisciplinary practice offering professional, proactive physiotherapy, sports therapy, sports massage, podiatry, reflexology, and Thai massage.

The team provides thorough assessment and treatment for all patients, addressing injuries from a wide range of causes.

Hands‑on care includes manipulation, soft‑tissue treatment, mobilisation, and stretching.

Each patient receives a comprehensive, individualized rehabilitation plan designed to support a safe, efficient return to sport or everyday activities.

Role Description

This is a part‑time, on‑site Medical Receptionist role based in Derby.

The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for greeting patients, managing check‑in and check‑out processes, and maintaining a welcoming, professional front‑of‑house environment.

Daily tasks include answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, scheduling and confirming appointments, and updating patient records accurately.

The role also involves coordinating with clinical staff, organising patient files, processing payments, and supporting smooth patient flow throughout the day.

The Medical Receptionist will ensure that confidentiality, professionalism, and excellent customer service standards are consistently maintained.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Appointment Scheduling skills and experience working within a Medical Office setting.
  • Candidates should possess courteous and professional Phone Etiquette along with core Receptionist Duties.
  • Candidates should possess an understanding of Medical Terminology to support accurate communication and record‑keeping.
  • Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.
  • Candidates should possess good organisational abilities, attention to detail, and basic computer proficiency (e. g., practice management or booking systems).
  • Candidates should possess reliability and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy clinical environment.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or sports therapy setting and knowledge of confidentiality and data protection standards are beneficial.
  • The hours required are 4‑8 pm Monday to Thursday and two Saturdays a month from 9‑1.
