What You'll Do

  • Working closely in a class team to support the teaching and learning and needs of the pupils.
  • Promoting our CiC drivers in the classroom by accessing the community, encouraging pupil's independence and ensuring they develop their communication.
  • After time, support and training to be creative in your thinking to help the class by making resources, ideas for the provision and adapting teaching to ensure pupils stay engaged.
  • Supporting the teacher with the daily uploading of photos and striving for a world class environment for our pupils.

Training Outcome

At St Giles, we love to grow our own staff. We have had a lot of apprentices over the last few years who have become a teaching assistant within our school once their apprenticeship has finished and then some have developed further in becoming a HLTA (higher level teaching assistant) which involves running their own interventions and covering teachers.
