We're looking for a Social Media Producer to help drive our digital reach, engage our influential audience, and help The Spectator's voice cut through today's crowded digital landscape. You will be responsible for transforming our editorial and video output into compelling, shareable social media content, and helping to manage our multi-platform publishing schedule on X, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads, Bluesky, Substack, Instagram and more.

You’ll be an advanced user of the Adobe Suite, a fast Premiere editor with an understanding of video formats and platform requirements, and able to write accurate, clean, engaging copy. You’ll be digitally literate, adaptable, and aware of emerging social media trends. You’ll have a passion for politics and a strong awareness of cultural commentary trends on social media, particularly YouTube, as well as a natural editorial instinct to extract clips with viral potential from long‐form video content.

Key responsibilities:
  • Transform long‐form assets (articles, podcasts, interviews) into digestible social media content
  • Edit and publish video clips from Spectator TV content, live events and podcasts
  • Identify trending topics and viral opportunities relevant to The Spectator's audience
  • Develop, commission and publish platform‐specific assets from our editorial content
  • Work closely with The Spectator's broadcast, events and commercial teams to support their objectives
  • Manage the social media publishing schedule
  • A/B test content formats and posting strategies to optimise reach and engagement
  • Maintain The Spectator's distinctive voice across platforms while adapting for different social audiences

Proven experience in social media production, preferably in news and politics. Experience with social media management tools. Excellent working knowledge of the Adobe Suite. Understanding of social media algorithms and best practices for organic growth. Creative storytelling abilities with a good eye for visual narratives and composition. Exceptional attention to detail with ability to work quickly under pressure.
