About the Group

The Specialist Works is built exclusively for marketers at entrepreneurial brands. Our clients span large privately owned businesses and small to mid-cap public enterprises. They are fighting larger, more established competitors and know they need to think and behave differently to win.

The marketers leading these brands are innovative, resourceful, moving at pace and in all-out growth mode. They’re powerful; redefining categories, overtaking and acquiring traditional businesses and changing consumer behaviour along with it.

Our clients share three common yet exciting challenges which define everything we do as an agency:

  • Consumer – customer acquisition is key to their success
  • Company – they are highly ambitious and built lean
  • Category – they are often outspent by their competitors, need to outmaneuver the competition and are passionate about disrupting an established category

Role Overview

We are looking for an AV Executive to join our broadcast team, working alongside the AV Manager in planning, buying and running TV advertising campaigns on behalf of our clients. You’ll be joining a talented team, where career development is key, at an exciting time in our growth.

You’ll already have 1-2 years’ experience, probably in an entry level AV or media planning/buying role so you’ll know all the lingo, know about media buying processes and you’ve had a bit of experience working with clients/suppliers/media owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working independently, you’ll support the day-to-day co-ordination and administration of several accounts
  • Supporting the AV Manager by creating daily advertising schedules, and any other relevant tasks
  • Attending client and supplier meetings
  • Actively enhancing your knowledge of the TV marketplace, and other media channels
  • Being the primary point of contact for all internal and external parties in relation to your accounts
  • Be aware and responsible for clients spend versus available credit and pre-payments
  • Running daily reports of live advertising campaigns to create ad-hoc, mid or post advertising campaign analysis reports, analyse and present findings to clients
  • Building and maintaining media owner/supplier/client relationships
  • Negotiating with media owners and sales houses to protect trading rates and service levels
  • Manage reconciliation with TV Sales Houses

What We’re Looking For

You’ll have at least 12 months’ experience of planning and buying in one or more media channel. This will mean you have a great understanding of media terminology and concepts, have experience of media buying processes and client service, will be used to multi-tasking across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and be a great team player.

You’ll have a pro-active approach in growing your clients’ spend and sourcing new opportunities. Experience of working with external stakeholders to deliver multiple projects. Experience in systems such as Media Ocean, Concept or similar accounting software.

Working Conditions

A minimum of 3 days per week in the office. May require some travel to meet with clients or attend industry events on an ad-hoc basis.

Benefits

We provide an exciting, fast paced, people first environment that allows everyone to grow, learn and thrive. We work a 9-day fortnight, meaning staff have every other Friday off! We offer all our employees share options, and we’ve built a benefits package that invests in our employees’ long-term personal and professional growth and wellbeing.

Our Values

  • Passion: You share your excitement about what drives you
  • Inquisitiveness: Ask “what’s possible?”. Ask “why not?”
  • Caring: Be a good professional, a good colleague and a good human
  • Knowledge: Know plenty. Share it. Learn more.

Social and Environmental Commitment

At What’s Possible Group, our mission is to build a group our people are proud of. We are dedicated to embedding social and environmental responsibility into every aspect of our business. You’ll contribute to initiatives that promote social equity, diversity, and inclusion within our workplace and in the content we create.

Your role as an AV Executive will include supporting these efforts by helping to implement green office practices, coordinating initiatives that enhance our corporate social responsibility, and ensuring our operations align with our values of sustainability and social responsibility.
