The predicted salary is between 22000 - 30000 £ per year.

Salary: ₤26,500 per annum – it is anticipated that this will increase to a higher level as selected candidate and their co-CEO improve the financial performance of the organisation.

Term: Permanent. Some evening/weekend work will be required.

To lead the administrative and planning aspects of the organisation and to work collaboratively with the Artistic Director to lead the Space’s strategic vision, mission and objectives.

  • Defining and promoting Space events, workshops, facilities and membership schemes.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and service users, other staff and volunteers, trust members, and suppliers personally and by telephone, e-mail and written correspondence.
  • Supporting the preparation of both online and offline promotional material, including social media that relates to the general organisation (specific production marketing activities will be led by the AD).
  • Defining and driving the implementation of the audience development strategy.

Community Engagement/Participation:

  • Building relationships with local organisations in private, public and third sectors.
  • Supporting tutors and other staff in the management of community activities.
  • Assisting in the recruitment and management of volunteers.
  • Market the cafe-bar to local residents and maintain a programme of events, offers and promotions.

Together with the Artistic Director and Treasurer to ensure the financial stability and viability of the organisation:

  • Ensuring the collection and recording of income, processing payments and maintaining associated records.
  • Completing financial reports and banking.
  • Premises & facilities management.
  • Maintaining furniture and equipment including IT equipment, photocopier, stage lighting and sound, phone and security systems and managing associated records.
  • Maintain a schedule of room and performance space use to ensure smooth rehearsal, performance, community, and events use.
  • Managing the café bar and liaising with staff on issues relating to health and safety, building maintenance and compliance with all required laws and regulations.
  • Handling enquiries and taking bookings of Space facilities and ensuring effective responsiveness to stakeholders and service users.
  • Work collaboratively with the Artistic Director and Trustees to ensure the organisation meets its legal, regulatory and other compliance responsibilities.
  • Monitoring the availability and condition of office equipment, arranging maintenance and keeping associated records.
  • Maintain and manage the organisations risk register.
  • Updating and maintaining the Space Operations Manual.
  • Supervision and deployment of volunteers.

Develop the long-term capital improvement plans and lead on capital project implementation when funds are available:

  • Building and developing the Space’s brand identity.
  • Support Space Works, our community-based access company, in collaboration with the Artistic Director.

Strong financial management and planning skills.

Demonstrable ability to manage buildings and facilities.

Good general standard of education including proficiency in written and spoken English.

Knowledge of arts administration gained in a minimum of 2 years’ experience, or relevant study course.

Leadership and management of an arts organisation.

Financial management and budgeting.

Identification and management of risk.

Venue management, marketing and audience development.

Self-sufficient in IT skills, standard office software and proper use of the internet.

Have a passion for theatre and the arts and a commitment to promoting and delivering quality services.

Responsive and supportive attitude to customers and facility users.
