World Vision, an international children's charity, was established to support all children, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender in some of the world’s most dangerous places. Inspired by the charity’s Christian faith, the worldwide organisation helps children and families “as if they were our own” to overcome poverty and experience fullness of life.

Working closely with the Director of Relationship Fundraising, as Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will lead and grow a high-value fundraising strategy aimed at raising more than £1m annually, where you will bring excellent relationship building abilities, an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset along with a passion to support the world’s most vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a fundraising strategy generating £1m+ annually.
  • Develop and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals and philanthropists.
  • Secure major and seven-figure gifts through cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

  • Build new networks through events, introductions and peer-to-peer fundraising.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, PR, digital, communications, policy & programme teams.
  • Create compelling funding propositions that inspire long-term donor support.

To be considered for this key position, you are likely to possess:

  • Significant experience in major donor fundraising or philanthropy.
  • A proven track record of growing high-value donor income.

  • Experience building relationships with senior decision-makers and wealthy individuals.

With an active Christian faith (Permitted under Schedule 9, Part 3 of the Equality Act 2010), the role requires participation in the organisation's spiritual life and ministry. This opportunity is integral to shape and grow a significant fundraising programme. It requires a high level of autonomy and strategic influence as well as the ability to build relations with major philanthropists, resulting in direct impact on programmes supporting vulnerable children globally.
