To provide general assistance to the Practice clinical team and present a courteous and professional image to patients and visitors, both in person and on the telephone. Responsibilities include accurate data entry, and providing administrative and clerical support to ensure effective service delivery. You will also facilitate communication between patients, primary and secondary care services, and external agencies. To be aware of the Practice philosophy and to treat patients/visitors with respect and tolerance, and offer constructive support to colleagues and the general public.
Main duties of the job:
- Processing some referrals eg radiology, back pain clinic, two-week wait
- Extended Hours for PCN data
- Booking out-of-hours HUB appointments
- Answering results line
- Monitoring Surgery website and mailbox
- Sending group messages via iPLato and accuRx online portal
- Ordering supplies
- Audits / Searches
- Covering reception (eg at lunchtime and/or covering staff absence due to sickness or holiday)

We have 4 GP Partners, 1 Practice Manager, and various other healthcare professionals at this Practice. Our team is welcoming and supportive to our patients, and each other. This is our ethos. We are part of the Enfield Unity Primary Care Network.
Job responsibilities:
- Administrative support to the Practice
- To be competent with EMIS and other associated IT systems
- Accurate computer data entry, allocation and collation
- To be aware of Practice procedures and work in accordance with written protocols
- Processing and recording information accurately, in accordance with Practice procedure and protocols
- Providing clerical assistance to Practice staff as required
- To deal with delegated tasks efficiently, according to guidelines set, and reporting regularly any problems which may occur
- To be trained in Infection Control
- Taking messages and passing-on information accurately
- To work flexibly according to the needs of the Practice and provide cover for absent colleagues eg reception
- To undertake mandatory and additional training as identified by the Practice (eLearning)
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Good general education, and good communication skills.
- Competent in IT.
- Ability to learn new systems.
- Experience: GP Surgery 3-5 years experience
- Excellent knowledge of EMIS and Docman
- Exceptional inter-personal skills

- Ability to work under pressure
