Multi-Skilled Operative / Multi-Trade Operative Location: Surrey, London, Kent and the wider South East Salary: £38,000 per annum Contract: Permanent Our client is looking for a practical, hands-on Multi-Skilled Operative / Multi-Trade Operative to join their operational delivery team. This is a permanent opportunity for someone with a background in building, construction, refurbishment or property repairs who enjoys varied practical work and is keen to develop their skills further. The role involves carrying out a range of building works across commercial, government and public sector properties. You will be working across different client sites, getting involved in a variety of tasks and taking pride in completing work to a good standard. You do not need to be fully qualified in a particular trade or have extensive experience across multiple trades. The company is happy to consider candidates with a solid practical background, a good attitude and the willingness to learn. The Role Typical works may include: * Carpentry repairs and installations * Tiling and flooring repairs * Painting and decorating * Brickwork and general building repairs * Fencing and gate repairs * Basic plumbing * Making good and remedial works * Minor refurbishment and general building works * Assisting with a variety of practical tasks across different sites You do not need to be experienced in every area. Candidates with a core trade, experience in one or two building trades, or practical skills gained through working alongside other trades will all be considered. About You We would be interested in candidates from a range of practical backgrounds, including: * Multi-Trade / Multi-Skilled Operative * General Builder * Carpenter / Joiner or Carpenter's Mate * Building Operative * Fabric Engineer / Fabric Technician * Property Maintenance Operative * Handyman * Construction Operative * Other candidates with hands-on building or refurbishment experience You should be practical, reliable and happy getting involved in different types of work. The ability to use your initiative, solve problems and work well with colleagues and clients is important. A positive attitude and willingness to develop your skills are just as important as your previous experience. Working Area The role involves regular travel across London, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire and the wider South East, working at different client sites. Candidates must be comfortable travelling between sites, and a full UK driving licence is essential. Training & Development Ongoing training and development will be provided, with opportunities to gain further skills and relevant certifications as required. This may include First Aid, Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, PASMA and IPAF. Qualifications & Experience A full UK driving licence is essential. Formal trade qualifications are not essential, and relevant practical experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications. Previous experience in building, construction, refurbishment, carpentry or other hands-on building work is beneficial. A CSCS card and additional training or certifications are desirable but not essential.
