Our client is seeking an experienced and dependable Multi-Skilled Operative to join their operational delivery team. As part of continued growth and long-term workforce planning, they are looking for someone with a strong practical background and a positive, can-do attitude who can support the delivery of a varied range of maintenance and building works across their client portfolio.

This role offers excellent variety, with works ranging from planned maintenance and reactive repairs through to minor refurbishment projects across commercial, public sector and Government facilities. The successful applicant will attend sites across London and the South East carrying out building maintenance activities and supporting wider operational projects where required.

Typical works may include:

  • Carpentry repairs and installations
  • Tiling
  • Decorating
  • Brickwork repairs
  • Fencing and gate repairs
  • Flooring repairs
  • Basic plumbing activities
  • Making good works
  • General building maintenance

Whilst experience across multiple trades would be advantageous, it is recognised that no individual will cover every trade discipline. The successful candidate will therefore possess strong transferable practical skills, take pride in their work and be willing to adapt and develop.

The role would suit someone who enjoys problem solving, working independently and taking ownership of tasks whilst also being comfortable working collaboratively within a wider operational team. Due to the nature of the projects, reliability, communication and professionalism are extremely important alongside maintaining high standards of workmanship and health and safety compliance.

Applicants should hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling throughout London and the South East as required. Projects are delivered across Government buildings, commercial properties and private sector organisations. Security vetting requirements will apply for certain sites.

A comprehensive training programme is provided, including:

  • First Aid
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Working at Height
  • PASMA
  • IPAF
  • Additional industry-specific training as required

The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced operational management team and provided with opportunities for ongoing development.

Experience Required: Candidates should have experience carrying out general building repairs and maintenance works and ideally have worked within a similar role previously. You should be confident working independently, making decisions on site and resolving problems effectively whilst maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
