An established and growing building, mechanical and maintenance contractor is looking to recruit a Mechanical Installation Engineer / Pipefitter to join its expanding team working across Hampshire, Sussex and Kent. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that is actively growing its mechanical division, offering long-term career development, specialist training and genuine progression opportunities.
The successful candidate will work on the installation of pumps, pipework modifications and associated mechanical systems across a range of water industry sites, whilst also supporting wider mechanical and construction projects when required. Full product training will be provided directly by the pump manufacturer, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop specialist knowledge within the water industry.
What You'll Be Doing
- Installing pumps and associated mechanical equipment
- Pipework modifications and installations
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Assisting with commissioning, testing and fault finding
- Working safely on operational water and wastewater sites
- Completing site documentation and reports
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and project teams
- Supporting wider mechanical and construction activities when required
What We're Looking For
We would like to hear from candidates with experience as:
- Mechanical Installation Engineer
- Mechanical Fitter
- Pipefitter
- Maintenance Engineer
- Site Engineer
- Or a similar mechanical installation background
You should also have:
- Experience working from engineering drawings
- Strong practical mechanical skills
- Good problem-solving ability
- A proactive and professional approach
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience
Whilst not essential, the following would be advantageous:
- Water or wastewater industry experience
- Pipework installation experience
- Fabrication or welding experience
- CSCS Card
- EUSR Water Hygiene
- Confined Space Training
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- NVQ qualification
