I’m currently working with a well-established steelwork contractor who are looking to bring an experienced Steelwork Estimator into their commercial team. The company works across structural and architectural steel, delivering high-quality solutions to a range of sectors.
The Role: As a Steelwork Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for steel fabrication and erection projects. You will play a key role in securing work and supporting the project team in delivering successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of works
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural and architectural steelwork
- Source and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing
- Prepare and submit quotations and tender returns
- Attend pre- and post-tender meetings where required
- Work closely with the design, contracts, and project management teams
- Provide cost planning and value engineering support
- Maintain records of tenders, quotations, and project pricing
- Support in handover to the contracts team following project award
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the steelwork industry (structural and/or architectural)
- Strong understanding of fabrication and erection processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Competent with estimating software and MS Office
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
