We're currently recruiting for an experienced Master Technician to join a busy and forward-thinking automotive workshop in Co. Donegal. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician who wants to take the lead on complex diagnostics, electrical faults and the rapidly developing world of EV and hybrid technology.
The Role
As Master Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults across modern vehicles. You'll play a key role in supporting the wider workshop team, particularly when dealing with difficult or intermittent faults, EV and hybrid systems, and advanced electrical diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical, electronic and driveability faults across vehicle systems.
- Work with advanced manufacturer diagnostic equipment and electrical testing equipment.
- Act as the technical escalation point for other technicians, providing support and guidance on complex jobs.
- Complete work efficiently and accurately to required manufacturer and industry standards.
- Produce detailed, accurate job card write-ups and diagnostic reports.
- Communicate effectively with parts and service teams regarding required components and job progress.
- Road-test vehicles following repairs to confirm the quality and effectiveness of the work.
- Keep up to date with technical developments, diagnostic procedures and training.
About You
We're looking for an experienced technician with strong electrical and diagnostic expertise. Ideally, you'll have:
- Full qualification as a vehicle technician, with Master Technician status.
- Proven hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing EV and hybrid vehicles.
- High-voltage certification is advantageous, although training and fast-track certification can be provided for the right candidate.
- Excellent knowledge of modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
- Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Previous experience within a franchised dealership environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- A professional, self-motivated approach with high standards of workmanship.
