This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Charity and Housing Association. The Society of St James (SSJ) has been working in Hampshire for over 50 years, delivering high impact, person‑centred, accommodation services to adults and young people experiencing homelessness, problematic substance use and mental health problems. The Impact You'll Make
This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys creating content, designing marketing materials and delivering campaigns from concept to completion. As our Marketing & Communications Officer (Services), you’ll play a key role in helping people find and access support. Working across a portfolio of frontline services, you’ll create engaging campaigns, digital content and promotional materials that raise awareness, encourage referrals and showcase the positive impact of our work. From promoting alcohol and drug services in Southampton and Portsmouth to supporting homelessness, housing and wellbeing services, your work will help ensure that vital services reach the people who need them most.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a creative, organised and proactive marketing professional who enjoys producing high‑quality content and turning ideas into engaging campaigns. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple projects, working collaboratively with colleagues from different backgrounds and adapting your communications style to different audiences. Most importantly, you’ll be motivated by making a difference and excited by the opportunity to use your marketing and communications skills to support services that change lives.
Essential Skills and Qualities
- Experience of delivering marketing and communications campaigns.
- Strong copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
- Experience creating content for social media, websites and printed materials.
- Good graphic design skills and experience using Canva or similar design software.
- Experience managing social media accounts and creating engaging digital content.
- Experience of website content management systems such as WordPress.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to analyse campaign performance and use data to improve future activity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A creative, hands‑on and solutions‑focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
