The successful candidate will also demonstrate a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing and a holistic approach to education. Successful applicants will be confident teaching pupils across a wide age and ability range, with the ability both to introduce beginners to singing and to challenge and inspire more advanced singers through creative and engaging teaching methods.

We wish to appoint a Self‑Employed Singing Teacher to meet an immediate demand for singing lessons at Leicester Grammar School. The successful applicant will work alongside our current singing teacher, Mr Andrew Ashwin. Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs) at the Leicester Grammar School Trust are self‑employed and as such bill parents directly for lessons. Thus, the successful applicant must demonstrate good communication and administrative skills.

While the Trust cannot guarantee a specific number of pupils, there is strong potential for substantial and long‑term work within the school. Applications for the position of Self‑Employed Singing Teacher close on 1 June 2026. Early applications are encouraged, as we reserve the right to close the vacancy ahead of the advertised deadline should a suitable candidate be appointed.
