Mechanical Fitter

We at Work Lyf Group are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our client\’s Maintenance Team, based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Salary for Mechanical Fitter: £27,948

Position Details

As a Mechanical Fitter, you\’ll be responsible for maintaining, overhauling, and refurbishing rolling stock in accordance with the relevant regime and specifications.

This position is for permanent day shifts (7:00 – 16:30), working Monday to Thursday.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain, overhaul, and refurbish rolling stock according to the specified regimes.
2. Perform fault finding, rectification work, damage repairs, modifications, and other related tasks.
3. Ensure stock levels are maintained and stored correctly.
4. Order and reorder stock as needed.
5. Carry out damage reports and overload inspections, providing documentation and photographs as required.
6. Complete all relevant documentation for work carried out on rolling stock.
7. Properly file and store all related documentation.
8. May be required to work at other outstation depots.

Hours

36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday. Overtime opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Proactive approach with good organizational skills.
• Experience in the maintenance sector.
• Qualifications within an engineering discipline are advantageous.
• Rail industry experience is a plus.
