Are you passionate about helping others and making a real difference? Do you want to be part of a team where your work truly impacts your community, the environment, and the future of healthcare? Then Smile Together is the place for you!
We are looking for a caring, motivated Dental Nurse / Receptionist to join our friendly, patient-focused team. Working in our Penzance clinic will play a dual role — providing high-quality clinical support to our dentists while also delivering a welcoming, efficient front-of-house experience for our patients.
In surgery, you will assist with clinical procedures, maintain excellent cross-infection control standards, and help ensure patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit. On reception, you will be the first point of contact, managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting administrative processes, and creating a positive and professional first impression.
What You’ll Do
- Provide chairside assistance to clinicians across general, urgent, and community dentistry settings.
- Maintain high standards of infection control and ensure surgeries are prepared, stocked, and cleaned efficiently.
- Support the delivery of emergency and routine care, including special care and paediatric sessions.
- Welcome patients at reception, manage appointments, respond to telephone and email enquiries, and ensure a smooth patient journey from arrival to departure.
- Process payments, maintain accurate patient records, and support administrative systems in line with practice policies.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care both in-practice and, when required, through community and outreach programmes.
- Engage with patients compassionately, helping to reduce anxiety and ensure they feel welcomed, informed, and supported at every stage of their visit.
- Assist with administrative duties including record-keeping, stock control, patient preparation, and general front-of-house organisation.
What We’re Looking For
- GDC-registered Dental Nurse.
- A friendly, positive, and professional attitude with a passion for patient care.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to adapt within a dynamic clinical environment.
- Commitment to ongoing development and maintaining high clinical standards.
- Enthusiasm for Smile Together’s mission of improving oral health and reducing inequalities across Cornwall.
Why Join Us?
- We’re more than just a dental practice, we’re proud to be the UK’s first dental practice to be B Corp certified.
- A Community Interest Company (CIC).
- Proud to be employee-owned, giving our team a voice within the business.
- This means we’re committed to doing business differently for the benefit of our people, the communities we serve, and our planet.
What Makes Us Unique?
- Employee‑Owned: Be more than an employee – become a co‑owner, shaping the future of Smile Together.
