Sirius Plant owns a fantastic fleet of machines ranging from Excavators, Dozers, Rollers and ADTs to Crushers, Trommels, and Soil Stabilisers. Brands include Caterpillar, Volvo, Kobelco, Komatsu, Liebherr, Kleeman and Wirtgen. We invest in the latest machines, technologies, innovations and GPS systems. These machines and operators support our Demolition, Drilling, Ground Stabilisation, Earthworks, Remediation, Plant and Civil Engineering contracting services. The Sirius Group also provides Geotechnical, Environmental, Planning and Renewable Energy services to its growing client base. Sirius ensures site safety across both public and private sectors, we hold a full suite of industry accreditations and are committed to health and safety, the environment, and communities.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Plant field service/workshop engineer based from our Plant Yard in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. They will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide range of mobile plant machinery. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Inspecting and diagnosing machine faults
  • Performing routine maintenance and servicing
  • Ensuring equipment is safe and operational

The role requires adherence to safety standards and regulations, as well as effective communication with the team to report any issues or concerns. The Sirius Plant Team is a dedicated group of individuals, each a skilled expert in their field. We are looking for a Plant field service/workshop engineer self-motivated to work on their own with the character to be part of a team.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Mechanical skills in the maintenance and repair of mobile plant machinery
  • Experience with diagnostics and fault-finding on plant equipment
  • Understanding of safety standards and regulations for plant machinery
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Experience in the construction industry is a plus
  • Valid driving license
