Job Title: Driver\’s Assistant Location: Depot in Oxfordshire Salary: £12.21 per hour + Paid Overtime Job Type: Full-time Working Hours: 40x guaranteed hours per week – Overnights required Simon Acres Recruitment are looking for a Driver\’s Assistant for a well-established furniture manufacturer based in West Oxfordshire , delivering beautifully crafted furniture directly to customers across the UK. We\’re looking for a reliable and hard-working Driver\’s Assistant to join our client\’s delivery team, supporting our client\’s drivers in bringing exceptional service to our their customers. Role Overview: As a Driver\’s Assistant, you\’ll work alongside our client\’s delivery drivers to help transport and handle furniture items safely and professionally. This is a physically active role that involves heavy lifting, teamwork, and customer interaction, so a positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential. Key Responsibilities: Assist the driver with loading and unloading furniture at the warehouse and customer locations Safely handle and move items, taking care to avoid damage Help navigate routes and maintain delivery schedules Communicate politely and clearly with customers on-site Ensure all items are placed in the correct rooms, as per delivery instructions Support with basic assembly or unpacking of furniture when required Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the delivery vehicle Adhere to all health & safety guidelines and procedures Requirements: Comfortable with manual handling/heavy lifting Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team Friendly and professional with good communication skills Flexible approach – willing to work overtime when needed Previous experience in delivery or removals is a plus but not essential Willing to learn and take direction from senior team members What Our Client Offers: Competitive hourly rate plus paid overtime On-the-job training and progression opportunities Friendly, supportive team environment Simon Acres Recruitment are acting as the employment agency for this position.
