Acting Sales Director (Heir Apparent) London HQ, hybrid working. Salary around £140,000, plus full executive benefits package.

Our client, an £800m UK subsidiary of a global branded food giant at £15bn, is on the hunt for a grocery sales lead, a subject matter expert with an envious reputation, a visionary who can champion the ever-increasing demands of the grocery customer universe.

You are an undisputed expert with a reputation and relationships in the Grocery retail trade within touching distance of being at the top of your game, but one thing is for sure… you are on your way! You have the ambition to lead a programme of sales capability and excellence with the backing of a portfolio of instantly recognised brands in a £3bn ambient food category.

The remit is simple; you will lead the grocery customer agenda, supporting the Commercial Director to build a more aggressive growth plan combining commercial execution and JBP negotiations. Relentless high performance, process improvement and leading a winning team of 20 and significant input into other commercial functions, you’ll be in pursuit to take the lead title as category authority in the eyes of the retailer grocery trade.

A role combining team leadership and hands-on customer accountability will put you right at the heart of this organisation and its vibrant sales community. This is a vital No.2 to the Commercial Director. Thinking and acting with fearlessness must be your natural MO. You will be expected to act as the authority with complete autonomy to champion new ways.

Your combined technical skill and experience over 10 years in big blue-chip as well as progressive food and drink companies equips you to succeed. You’re respected as someone who is an inspiration to a large crowd, a creative thought-leader who can make things happen.

This role is principally about driving more contemporary commercialisation features of the grocery trade for the future - providing insight and expertise on sales matters, latest industry developments and beyond… staying ahead of the competition and keeping up with shopper trends.
