Our Business

We have an exciting portfolio of brands that support the Home Baking, Sweetening & Treats categories and aim to become the true home of home baking. This role will be key in supporting our Supply Team in meeting this vision.

The Role

We are recruiting for a Shift Engineer based in Bishop’s Stortford. This full‑time, shift‑based role provides 24/7 engineering support to our production operations. The successful candidate will maintain and improve the performance of production machinery, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and operating at maximum efficiency. They will help reduce downtime and support the delivery of the production plan. They will work closely with operators to optimise machinery performance and develop their mechanical skills, and collaborate with the Engineering Coordinator and other engineers to carry out planned and reactive maintenance. In addition, they will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support spare‑part availability, and ensure effective communication during shift handovers. They will promote high standards in safety, hygiene and engineering practice, and be flexible across all shifts including weekends. They will take ownership of their own development and support wider site management when required.

The Candidate

Qualified, experienced engineer passionate about high standards and continuous improvement. Recognised apprenticeship with electrical and mechanical qualifications, ideally City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent. BS 7671 qualification (17th or 18th Edition). Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or a fast‑paced environment highly desirable. Strong commitment to health and safety, confident in identifying and resolving machine performance issues, track record of measurable improvements. Team player, personal accountability, committed to continuous improvement.
