We are looking for a bubbly and energetic Receptionist to join our Front Office team at The Barnsdale, Rutland. Our 46-bedroom hotel overlooks the beautiful Rutland landscape with a picturesque courtyard, with a kitchen brigade providing fine dining using many ingredients sourced from the wealth of fine produce found in the locality. Encircled by idyllic surroundings on the north shore of Rutland Water, the hotel is a tranquil rural haven, close to the charming market towns of Oakham and Uppingham.
As part of the reception team, you will be one of the first people to welcome our guests into our beautiful Hotel. You will help to create those enchanting moments which sets the tone for our guests’ visit, whether they have come for a dining experience or an overnight stay. Likewise, you will also be the final person our guests see, and your aim will be to give them a wonderful lasting impression that they will never forget.

Responsibilities
- Support the Reception Manager or Supervisor in the overall running of the Front Desk.
- Be comfortable working with various systems and technology, and take reservations on an ad-hoc basis via the phone.
- Have an eye for detail and be able to naturally build a relationship with guests which come through our hotel doors each day.
- Have an understanding of service recovery techniques, and be comfortable in handling guest complaints when they arise.
- Be a friendly people person and possess excellent communication skills.
- Be comfortable working independently, but equally as part of a bigger team.
- Undertake relevant training and development and keen to progress your career through our support.
- Have at least 1 years' experience in a busy, fast-paced hospitality environment.
