Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated professional Chef de Partie to join our Kitchen team at The Retreat, Elcot Park located in West Berkshire.
After extensive refurbishment the hotel has been transformed to offer individually bespoke designed bedrooms, two new exciting restaurant concepts, a state of the art spa facility with membership and many more experiences to offer our guests.

You will:
- Ensure that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
- Ensure that all mise en place is always freshly prepared and on time.
- Ensure that all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.
- Ensure that all dishes reach the hot plate or pass correctly garnished, the correct portion and size, presented on the prescribed serving dish in the prescribed manner.
- Ensure that his/her section is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Ensure that junior cooks and trainees receive the right training and optimum guidance.
- Ensure that any anticipated shortages are communicated promptly to the Sous Chef or Head chef.
- Ensure that no horseplay is allowed in his section and that all staff under his control are treated fairly and with courtesy.
- Deputise in the Sous Chef’s absence and take charge of the kitchen when directed to do so.
- Attend training courses and seminars as and when required.
- Strive to study management subjects in preparation for future advancement.
- Ensure that all company rules and regulations relating to Hygiene, Health and Safety are being strictly adhered to and recorded correctly.
