Responsibilities:
- Managing the daily operations of the school medical room, ensuring it is a clean, stocked, and safe environment for unwell children.
- Supervising and organising first‑aid trained staff from across the school as required.
- Providing first aid to pupils, staff, and visitors, and assessing injuries to determine appropriate action.
- Leading on first‑aid arrangements, including conducting risk assessments and maintaining Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs).
- Overseeing the secure storage and administration of medication in line with school policy and parental consent.
- Maintaining accurate records of incidents and treatments, ensuring confidentiality in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Being committed to undergoing necessary training—such as First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid—if you do not currently hold these qualifications.
- Remaining calm under pressure, working autonomously, and communicating effectively with parents and staff.
- Willingness to learn new skills, including the use of school MIS systems (like Arbor) and Google Workspace.
- Committing to safeguarding and inclusive education.
Qualifications:
- Good level of literacy and numeracy (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
- First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certificates or a commitment to acquire them.
- Experience in safeguarding and inclusive education.
