Philip Morant School and College was judged as “Good” in all areas by Ofsted in September 2023. We are looking for a Teacher of MFL (Spanish) who can be a key part in our ongoing improvement journey. This is a maternity cover, 40% – 2 days a week. Our school is a calm and orderly place. We work hard to ensure everyone feels welcome. As the largest school in Colchester we have exceptional facilities. Through the Sigma Trust there are many opportunities to work with staff in other schools and to have opportunities for development. From there every member of staff is part of a strong team and support and opportunity is always available. This is an exciting and strong department in a school where 60% of students complete French or Spanish up to GCSE and we are looking to expand our provision into A Level. This position will suit an experienced or early career teacher.
Responsibilities
- Teaching classes of KS3 to KS4 in Spanish.
- Preparing lessons and materials for your classes and to support the department.
- Working with the department on moderation and assessment.
