We are seeking a hands-on Head of IT to lead technology delivery, security, vendor performance and operational governance for a fast-growing professional services business (~250 people). The role focuses on introducing structure, consolidating the Microsoft estate post-acquisition, reducing technical debt, and building a scalable operating model that supports future growth.
- Own IT strategy, priorities, budget inputs, and delivery across BAU and change.
- Establish clear governance for risk, change, and technology decision-making.
- Maintain an up-to-date view of the IT estate (platforms, contracts, licensing, suppliers, security posture).
- Microsoft estate consolidation & integration readiness.
- Lead Microsoft 365 tenant consolidation (identity/email) into the primary tenant and decommission legacy tenants.
- Simplify and rationalise associated services (data shares, telephony contracts, tooling) where required.
- Led IT for an organisation of roughly 200–500 employees (or comparable complexity), ideally in professional services and/or regulated environments.
- SLAs, commercials, service performance, risk management.
- Experience implementing pragmatic IT service management: incident + change + problem management.
- Solid grounding in cybersecurity operations: identity, endpoint, monitoring, incident response.
- Strong communicator with the ability to set priorities, explain risk, and drive adoption across the business.
