Specialty Doctor in Breast Surgery

Opportunity

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust invites applications for a full‑time 10PA Specialty Doctor in Breast Surgery. The role supports a team of experienced surgeons at Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, with responsibilities across both the PRH and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality care to Breast Surgery patients in clinic and theatre settings, and will support consultants with complex procedures and specialist interests.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for in‑patients and out‑patients in Breast Surgery clinics, including theatre assistance and associated administrative duties.
• Perform independent operating lists with prior breast surgery experience.
• Participate in a 1:6 non‑resident General Surgery on‑call rota, including out‑of‑hours duties, at Princess Royal Hospital.
• Assist with the upper gastrointestinal surgery on‑call rota when required.
• Follow patients through their entire clinical pathways.

Qualifications

• Specialty training in breast surgery or equivalent with demonstrable experience in breast surgery procedures.
• Excellent team‑working skills and a professional attitude to collaborate within a multi‑professional team.
• Capacity to deliver clinical and quality targets agreed nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.
• Strong commitment to patient continuity of care across clinical pathways.
