Overview
Our theatres are entering an exciting phase of transformation, with new services and facilities planned across both sites. The primary workplace would be at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, however there may be a requirement to occasionally work cross-site, depending on clinical need. Working as part of a team you will provide exceptional care for each patient, only ever caring for one patient at a time, enabling you to ensure you are always doing your very best for every patient every time. You\’ll play an essential role in the smooth running of our theatres and help us maintain our exceptional levels of care. Theatre HCA\’s assist the wider theatre team with the safe passage of patients through the surgical pathway.
About the role
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care? We\’re looking for compassionate individuals to join our Theatre Department as Healthcare Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a close-knit, supportive team where you\’ll play a vital role in the safe and smooth running of our theatres. You\’ll enjoy working as a team player and have a flexible attitude to meet service demands. Previous experience is desirable, however relevant training to achieve the standards required will be given. We are also welcoming applications from individuals who have completed health-related T-Levels or BTEC Health & Social Care courses.
Qualifications
- Please note it is essential that you possess GCSEs Grade A-C (9-4) or equivalent in Maths and English in order to apply for this post.
Development and Training
- Joining us, you\’ll be part of our βGrow Your Ownβ workforce programme. This provides clear routes into further development, including the Nursing Associate or Operating Department Practitioner apprenticeship.
- As a new starter in Theatres, you\’ll also attend our Theatre Academy – a comprehensive three-week training programme grounded on evidence-based practice and aligned to our Trust\’s policies and procedures, as well as National standards and guidelines. The training combines practical experience, classroom-based and e-learning, hands on demonstrations and practical assessments. You\’ll also be supported throughout your induction, with a dedicated Theatre Professional Development team, a personal \’HCA Buddy\’, and regular feedback to help you feel confident in your role.
