An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with a passion for providing gold standard care for patients diagnosed with a gynaecological malignancy. The successful applicant will work within a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) and consultants within the gynaecology cancer team with a view to improving the cancer patient experience, as well as supporting patients with their non-clinical needs.

Main duties of the job

To be a central point of contact for patients with suspected or confirmed gynecological malignancy. Provide non‑clinical telephone advice, refer or signpost to other sources of support, guide them through their personalized care pathway, complete Health Needs Assessments (HNA\’s), document and monitor aspects of care coordination and service delivery using Somerset Cancer Register, maintain databases for long‑term high‑risk patients to ensure appointments are allocated in a timely manner.

Facilitate communication between patients and the clinical team, ensuring timely care and support, and help patients and their families access necessary resources and information as an individual. Care Coordination is a collaborative effort that joins services, coordination, information and communication between caregivers, treatment providers, those living with and beyond cancer and their families.

As part of our long‑term vision to improve patient care and service delivery, our service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028, creating a modern environment that enhances care and team experience. Successful candidates are expected to move with the service in early 2028.
