Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, newly qualified and existing Band 5 Physiotherapists to join our friendly team of Therapists working on a rotational basis across both The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

What we offer

Pre-registration positions at Band 4 until HCPC registration is complete (this would be once confirmation of passing degree had been obtained at the end of your studies). Preceptorship programme for all newly qualified therapists in first year of practice. Weekly training / taught CPD sessions / regular supervision and mentorship. Protected SPA time for professional development.

Main duties of the job

To assess, diagnose/ interpret and manage own caseload of complex patients as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council Regulations.

Please note: After a period of training and completion of competencies, respiratory on-call is expected to be worked by all our band 5 Physiotherapists. All staff are expected to work across a seven day service as required on a rota basis.

Training and development

We offer a robust training and development programme and a competency system for all our band 5\’s and provide support for development opportunities. Our Band 5 positions are rotational and cover:

  • Medicine
  • Surgery
  • Critical care
  • Orthopaedics
  • MSK outpatients
  • Oncology
  • Inpatient
  • Stroke
  • Front door services including ED
  • Acute Adult Respiratory
  • Acute Respiratory Paediatrics

Rotations

  • Cross-organisational rotations (including MPFT, RJAH and SCHT available as service enables)
  • All rotations have a robust competency framework and mentorship system with appraisals at regular periods across the rotation with a full appraisal annually.
