Overview
The Shore Group are a multi-service, sector-driven business, established in 2008. The HR Director will lead our people strategy as we scale rapidly over the next five years. Reporting to the Owners, you will build the HR infrastructure from the ground up, enhance our culture during rapid growth, and establish people capability as genuine competitive advantage. Working as a go-between from the board to employees, making a lasting impact on the business.
This role will offer you the opportunity to shape HR strategy in a fast‑paced, £250mil Group and enable you to work across diverse sectors with blue‑chip clients with our collaborative culture and experienced leadership team.
It is essential to have 3‑5+ years' senior level HR experience with a track record scaling at least one company from 50‑100 to 250‑400+ employees. You will have experience building HR infrastructure in high‑growth environments and CIPD Level 7 or equivalent qualification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic People Leadership
- Strategic workforce and talent planning, organisational design, and culture development that improves business performance and supports the 5-year growth plan
- Lead organisational change initiatives, supporting department heads through team scaling challenges including any acquisitions and succession planning
- Coach and mentor leadership team with strategic HR guidance on restructuring, growth, and people challenges to ensure all staff are working to their full potential
- Deliver board‑level reporting on people metrics, risks, and opportunities
- Transform current PDR process into continuous performance management system
- Conduct skills gap analysis and create formal training plans
- Build manager capability through coaching, delegation, and feedback training
- Establish leadership development initiatives and succession plans for critical roles
- Establish structured hiring processes with competency frameworks, interview training, and starters and leavers processes.
- Enhance the Shore Group culture as we grow with proactive engagement strategies
- Design onboarding programs that effectively transmit culture as we scale
- Establish HR policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks
Chartered CIPD membership (MCIPD) strongly preferred. Strategic business acumen - ability to discuss financial and business strategy credibly. Talent acquisition experience that builds recruitment capability and employer brand. Culture and change leadership through significant organisational growth. Executive presence and stakeholder management at executive level.
