The Shore Group are a multi-service, sector-driven business, seeking a BDM to drive new business acquisition and identify cross-selling opportunities across Group clients. This role requires a hunter mentality combined with consultative selling skills to maximise opportunities. Success requires deep understanding of specific service/sectors, product/service benefits and challenges to influence key decision maker decisions.

This role requires you to have proven sales track record or influencing skills with a minimum 3-5 years' sector experience and a background influencing senior stakeholders in relevant sectors or commercial roles. You should have a strong understanding of relevant services/sectors including compliance/H&S needs and be commercially minded with the ability to identify key sales signals and negotiate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • New Business Development
  • Identify and develop new opportunities with target contract values £250K - £2M annually
  • Build robust pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, and referral generation
  • Leverage core brand messages and primary differentiators to create opportunity
  • Develop compelling proposals and presentations that demonstrate value propositions
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Map relationships and build influence with senior decision makers in target organisations
    • Manage complex sales cycles from initial contact through contract signature
    • Coordinate with operations and services teams to ensure smooth client onboarding
    • Work with Commercial teams to negotiate terms and close new business
  • Market Development & Strategy
    • Identify market trends and opportunities and develop sector-specific strategies
    • Contribute to service development based on market feedback and client requirements
    • Monitor competitor activity and maintain competitive intelligence
    • Utilise CRM and BD tools to identify and prioritise opportunities
  • Performance & Reporting
    • Achieve quarterly and annual new business targets for revenue and client acquisition
    • Maintain accurate pipeline data in CRM system with regular forecast updates
    • Produce weekly activity reports, conversion rates and monthly performance reviews
    • Lead tender submission processes, ensuring high quality, on-time bids
