The Shipowners' Club is a mutual insurance association. We offer Protection & Indemnity (P&I), Legal Costs Cover and associated insurances to smaller and specialist vessel owners, operators and charterers around the world. Building on over 170 years of experience, the Shipowners' Club provides tailor-made insurance packages for each operator according to their particular need.

We are now seeking a Marketing Executive to join us on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated marketing professional to develop their career within a collaborative and supportive environment, working with an experienced marketing team and contributing to impactful marketing initiatives across the business. We also have a hybrid working model (minimum 2 days in the office - after probation).

Overall responsibility of the role:

As a Marketing Executive, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Club's marketing strategy and communications activity. Working closely with the Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing, you will contribute to a wide range of marketing initiatives including campaigns, digital channels, content creation and events. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple marketing disciplines and collaborate with colleagues and external partners to promote the Club's products and services to a global audience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Strategy through the promotion of Shipowners' products and services to a variety of external stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and marketing trends to devise new ideas and solutions for content and communications.
  • Support the development and manage the implementation of the Club's social media strategy, overseen by the Marketing Manager.
  • Design and deliver engaging and persuasive integrated marketing campaigns to support various business functions (integrated campaigns to include elements of print, web, social and design).
  • Generate, proof and edit copy to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Account manage the external designer, copywriters, translators and any other suppliers on behalf of the Club.
  • Measure, evaluate and report on marketing campaigns using various analytics tools, including Google Analytics.
  • Maintain and develop the Club's website, intranet and social media channels.
  • Initiate, execute and evaluate internal and external Club events (providing on the day support).
  • Support the Marketing team in providing administrative support for the department.

Experience Required:

  • Marketing degree or CIM professional qualification.
  • At least three years experience in a marketing role.
  • Highly articulate with clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to analyse and understand data and information.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work to tight schedules and balance competing demands.
  • Organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative and respond quickly to requests.
  • Familiarity with CMS systems.
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud package to an intermediate level.
  • Understanding of CRM and associated functionality.
  • Experience of utilising various social media platforms from a business context.
